Erasmus+ Information Session for the Philippines 2025

CHED Central Office, April 15, 2025

To further advance the Internationalization of Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) in the country, Commission on Higher Education Central office held the Erasmus+ Information Session for the Philippines 2025 on April 15, 2025, at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office in Quezon City. This event gathered International Relations Officers (IRO) and representatives from various higher education institutions nationwide and aimed to promote the Erasmus+ Program of the European Union.

The Director for International Affairs of Samar State University, Dr. Elmer Irene, attended the said session which aimed at providing updated information on the Erasmus+ components, application processes, and the opportunities it offers to Filipino students, faculty, and institutions. Organized in collaboration with the Erasmus+ Philippines, the session highlighted the program’s renewed focus on inclusion, sustainability, digital transformation, and civic engagement. Participants were welcomed by CHED officials, followed by comprehensive presentations on Erasmus+ mobility grants, capacity-building in higher education (CBHE), and Jean Monnet activities. Notable segments included the sharing of success stories by past Erasmus+ scholars and institutional partners, which provided practical insights and inspiration to the attendees.

Attending the session proved to be an enriching experience that deepened participants’ understanding of Erasmus+ and emphasized the importance of international academic collaboration. The information shared during the event made the Erasmus+ programs feel more accessible and relevant to Philippine institutions, especially with CHED’s active role in facilitating engagement. One of the most impactful realizations was that the Erasmus+ programs are now closer to us than ever before—within reach and highly applicable to the local academic landscape. The testimonials and technical presentations were both informative and motivating, encouraging institutions to take concrete steps toward applying for Erasmus+ opportunities.
