Samar State University (SSU) continues to expand its global engagement as representatives from its Office of International Affairs actively participate in the International Partnership Day 2025 organized by Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia. The event, held virtually on February 11, 2025, serves as a platform for fostering meaningful collaborations and strengthening existing partnerships among international institutions.
Dr. Astria Nur Irfansyah, the Deputy Director of International Partnership of ITS, highlighted its extensive global network, announcing a total of 544 academic partners worldwide. The event gathered around 74 participants from its various partner universities around the globe. Representing the Philippines were esteemed institutions, including Samar State University, Southern Leyte State University, Davao Oriental State University, Davao del Sur State College, and the University of the Philippines Diliman.
The delegation from SSU includes Dr. Elmer A. Irene, Director for International Affairs, Ariel N. Abarratigue, International Quality Assurance Staff, and Mark Brian Quemano, Staff. Their participation underscores SSU’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation, particularly in the areas of student and faculty mobility, research collaborations, and academic exchange programs.
The event, facilitated by ITS Global Engagement, provided an avenue for SSU and other institutions worldwide to discuss opportunities for academic exchange and cooperation. With a focus on strengthening ties between SSU and ITS, the participation of SSU’s representatives is expected to open new pathways for student exchange programs, faculty collaborations, and joint research initiatives.
By actively taking part in events such as the International Partnership Day 2025, Samar State University reaffirms its commitment to global academic networking and continuous improvement in international standards. This initiative aligns with SSU’s goal of promoting world-class education and producing globally competitive graduates.
