On April 22, 2024, Universitas Brawijaya in Indonesia, in partnership with Elsevier, launched the “UB Online Short Course: Pathways to Publication – Equipping Scholars with Essential Writing and Publishing Skills.” This extensive course covered a variety of subjects that are essential for academic success and is set to air from April 22 to April 25, 2024.
The course addresses topics such as identifying research gaps, crafting compelling titles and abstracts, structuring papers for acceptance, understanding research ethics, and navigating the intricacies of publication, the course aimed to empower scholars with indispensable skills.
Dr. Elmer A. Irene, Director of International Affairs, served as one of the esteemed presenters on the first day, focusing on “Crafting Impactful Research Titles, Abstracts, and Keywords.” Prior to his insightful session, Dr. Irene took the opportunity to showcase Samar State University, offering participants a glimpse into its academic prowess. After the presentation, Dr. Irene addressed the questions coming from the participants fostering an interactive and enlightening discussion.
The event drew a remarkable attendance of 1,254 participants hailing from 29 different countries, underscoring its global significance and reach. As scholars from diverse backgrounds converged virtually, the UB Online Short Course proved to be a vital platform for knowledge exchange and skill enhancement, fostering collaborative learning and scholarly growth.
