Samar State University’s (SSU) Acting International Student Exchange Program Coordinator, Ariel N. Abarratigue, attended the Information Session for the International Industrial Talents Education Special (INTENSE) Program on December 2 at the Graduate School Function Hall at Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), hosted by Kun Shan University (KSU), Taiwan in collaboration with EVSU.
The program gathered representatives from SSU, Leyte Normal University, University of Eastern Philippines-Catarman, and Southern Leyte State University, along with faculty and students from EVSU. The KSU delegation was composed of Dr. Mike Chu and INTENSE Program Managers Ms. Tina Chang, Ms. Belle Zheng, and Ms. Wing Hsiao, together with representatives from INTACT Base-Manila, Ms. Jonah Ponce and Ms. Joy Fojas.
Ms. Tina Chang discussed that the INTENSE Program offers significant opportunities for Filipino degree holders who wish to pursue further studies in STEM, Finance, and Semiconductor fields. She explained that the program requires students to stay in Taiwan for work after graduation in accordance with the scholarship terms and highlighted that full support is provided through government and industry collaboration in offering scholarships.
She further detailed that the INTENSE Program includes benefits such as a one-way airline ticket and required administrative fees, a tuition subsidy for up to two years, a monthly living allowance, paid internship opportunities, and guaranteed job placement after graduation.
By participating in these sessions, SSU students become more informed about opportunities available to them after completing their respective programs.
