It’s a rare and extraordinary moment when students step beyond their university walls and proudly represent not just their school but their entire culture on a global platform. That’s exactly what the eight outstanding students of Samar State University (SSU) achieved in March 2025. Selected as the Internationalization Student Awardees, these young scholars exemplified what it means to be both academically excellent and culturally aware.
SSU has always been a powerhouse of regional talent and innovation. But this latest achievement marks a new era—one where global citizenship and academic collaboration come together. These awardees didn’t just pack their bags and fly off for a study trip. They embarked on a transformative journey that required courage, adaptability, and a genuine curiosity about the world beyond their own.
This year, from March 16 to 29, the awardees participated in an international student exchange program hosted by Dong Thap University and Tra Vinh University in Vietnam. Through this exchange, the students gained more than academic exposure—they absorbed cultural nuances, forged lifelong friendships, and returned home not just as students, but as ambassadors of learning, unity, and global understanding.
The university, the faculty, and the student body are all beaming with pride. And rightly so—because these students proved that when education meets internationalization, great things happen.
