The Office of the Director of International Affairs headed by Dr. Elmer A. Irene and Office of the Graduate School headed by the Concurrent Dean and Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa E. Gomba has successfully conducted a one-day seminar lecture on Language Testing and Evaluation with Dr. De Van Phung, Visiting Professor from Tra Vinh University (TVU), Vietnam on March 27, 2023 at the Convention Center, Samar State University. Dr. De highlighted in his lecture the importance of understanding what we test, how we test, and the impact of the use of tests on learners.
The two-hour lecture was attended by thirty (30) Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) major in English students and language faculty from Graduate School and other colleges.
The lecture of Dr. De at Samar State University as a Visiting Professor is an indicator that SSU and TVU continue to enrich and diversify students’ learning experience so that they can be more adaptable to fast-paced changes in a global environment and lastly promote and deepen awareness of social and cultural similarities, and inculcate respect for social and cultural differences.
