Officers from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) – Tacloban and Calbayog conducted an ocular inspection at Samar State University (SSU) on April 20 (22) as part of the application of the University for accreditation which accepts foreign students.
BI-Calbayog Alien Control Officer Mr. Frederick Carlos Bartolome, BI-Tacloban Immigration Officer Mr. Jim Advincula, and BI-Tacloban Immigration Assistant Ms. Aurora Zacate were ushered around the campus to check the premises and facilities of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Education (CoEd), and the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Office of the International Affairs (OIA) Director Dr. Elmer Irene and Coordinator for International Student Exchange Mr. Pedro Cabrales together with the Deans and some faculty joined the BI officers during the ocular inspection.
The University through the OIA plans to open courses for foreign students as the University continues to prepare its foundation as an International University.
